LG’S Latest Social Responsibility Initiative Educates
Women in Cooking, Nutrition, and Health
Jeddah – April 16th, 2008 – LG
Electronics, the global & regional digital leader, and
United Yousef M. Naghi Co. Ltd., LG home appliances distributor
in Saudi Arabia, launched the first cooking academy in the
Saudi Arabia. The Event was attendee by a large number of
VIPs guests and guest of honor Ms. Madawi Al Hasson –
Chamber of Commerce Board Member, as will as guests from the
local universities and colleges. The LG Cooking Academy will
offer women a valuable opportunity to learn about various
cooking styles and methods, Nutrition, and Health. Entrance
to the Academy will be free of charge, as it will equip young
Saudi females with desperately needed skills that will enable
them to successfully fill jobs in the cooking, Nutrition,
and Health Sectors in the Kingdom.
“The academy’s will be exciting
because it will include a lot of fun activities, and will
provide trainees with the opportunity to experience various
ways of cooking techniques using LG’s latest home appliances
and new technology products”, explained, Mr. K W Kim,
CEO Regional Company. He added “LG Cooking Academy’s
will enable trainees to learn how to prepare special kind
of food for people with special care and those who are in
need for diet food, by experts in the field of health and
nutrition from notable chief, specialized doctors, and Nutrition
specialists.”
He added, “We have prepared a cooking
manual that trainees will use during their training in the
academy to instruct attendees on how to cook special and easy
recipes on the LG microwave (Solar Dom).
LG’s General Manger Mr Simon Lee, express
his pride, saying that “We are very excited because
this Academy will be the first of its kind in Jeddah, and
we are strive to see a lot of trainee joining us in the LG
Cooking Academy, and we plan to expand to other regions in
Saudi next year.”
“Several amazing opportunities will
be available to the academy’s attendees, trainee will
have the opportunity to participate in LG annual cooking contest
that we will be held in cooperation with United Yousef M.
Naghi Co, in which will be covered by notable T.V. and radio
channels. Trainee will also learn to cook foods that cater
for different lifestyles from healthy food to gourmet cooking.
Upon completion of each course, trainees will receive certificate
from the LG Cooking Academy as reward for their participation
and achievements.

us and LG Electronics to establish the Cooking Academy, said,

Worth to mention that, The cooking academy
will be supervised, by Dr. Eman Al Ayobi. specialized doctor
in the field of Health care dietary and nutrition with more
than eleven years of experience in the field. Adding to that,
LG Electronics will launch a TV cooking Show on Future TV
starting on April 15th, the show will be hosted by the chief.
